sailing and diving around the world
We've finally started moving our gear over to the other boat. We're breathing new life into 'Namaste' again. We spent the day cleaning her, and Dan's got some plans for some upgrades and embellishments. He's also buying a brand new dinghy, which we should be able to pick up on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll have some pictures of Namaste soon, after we've finished the work.
Had a great day, today. Went to the famous pub, 'Davis',' and had a great lunch. As we were going walking away from where I parked the car, I noticed a gentleman walking with a magnificent parrot. So I told Dan that I'd meet him inside the pub and went to talk to see the bird. I'm getting really bad, because I forgot the Parrot's name. I think it was Alita, meaning winged one? I'm not sure. I also forgot the gentleman's name, so maybe he'll see this and email me.
I had planned on having the fish and chips, but the crab dip, onion rings, and potato wedges filled me up. Onion are onion rings, I suppose, but these onion rings were fabulous and were served with a spicy chipotle sauce. The crab dip, served with fresh baguette and crackers was out of this world. The potato wedges weren't ordinary either, because the had just the right amount of cheese, bacon, and sour cream. It was heavenly. I've decided to go back and try everything on the menu. Should be doable because we're going to be here for a few weeks more. We're moving the new boat to a different marina, though, in a few days.
Lucy left yesterday, and I was very sad all day long. She is another incredibly charming woman, from Quebec, Canada, the next province over from where I live. I went to say goodbye to her and I just barely managed to hold back a tear or two. I had become accustomed to seeing her coming down the dock every morning, on her way to yoga, or some other exercise class, and that would make my day. Of course, she speaks with a lovely French accent.
Oh yeah, I also went to Quiet Waters Park, close to the marina, it was a beautiful walk. I was invited by the mystery lady, to go to a concert that was being held in the park, by the river. We parked in a mall parking lot, and walked across the street to get to the park's entrance. I don't suggest you walk, if you go, because it's quite a distance. Turned out that she got the dates mixed up, and we were a couple of days early. So, we didn't see a concert, but we had a lovely walk and saw foxes and a few deer.
