sailing and diving around the world
Hey guys :) Quick update. I'm now officially a Rescue Diver, having completed the practical exam yesterday. In fact, I just recieved my new certifiction confirmations via email. I start the Divemaster orientation on Saturday, starting with some more skill testing. Looking forward to it! Time is flying by fast. Just how I like it :):) For the Rescue Diver practical exam, I had to take a non-responsive diver to the surface, using rescue techniques, and then begin to administer first aid, on the surface, while removing the victim's gear, then tow to shore. Once on shore, I had to administer emergency oxygen and give CPR. We also had a few other skills to demonstrate, like stopping a diver from bolting to the surface, and calming down an over-exerted diver, below the surface. It was a bit of a challenge, but a lot of fun, and it definitely took me to another level of understanding, as well as skill.
I took a couple of videos showing my walk to the local Starbucks. Had to get my weekly Cafe Mocha :) I also went to the local market to buy some fish, and I did a brief video of that, too. Then another small video of the pre-party set-up for the graduating IDC group. Mike, the owner of the school dropped off a bunch of steaks for the BBQ. I prepared some potato salad. It was all really good.
