Spent a day at Coco Beach, in Cape Canaveral and thought I'd post a few videos. Really nice beaches here. We drove from Orlando, which is very different from Coco Beach. Orlando is a major tourist town, where you can ride the Orlando Eye, race 45 miles per hour in go-karts, or go on an animal safari. I'm heading back to Toronto for a week, to prepare for the next boat, which I'll be bringing back to the Caribbean, from the Canaries. After that, I'll rejoin Namaste, which will probably still be in Mexico.
The first video is from the bar at Coco Beach Pier. You can see the surfers out in the distance, sitting on their boards, waiting for a decent wave. The third video is of a wedding party. Very beautiful they way they set up a makeshift 'altar' right on the beach. Even more charming were the little children, running around in their dresses and kilts.
Fort Myers Yacht Basin, the marina we're in right now is pretty good. Most of the staff are friendly. Jill, in the marina office is really great. I wish there was a Jill in every marina. The marina is only minutes away from 'downtown' Fort Myers. There isn't a lot going on in Fort Myers, really. There are some decent restaurants, but nothing of any real interest. There isn't the same kind of historical background, in Fort Myers, as there is in many of the other cities in the United States. I haven't been over to Cape Coral, not far away from from Fort Myers, but you have that option as a staging place before crossing over to Mexico. Hello to Jill, Mike, Tim, Ken, Darcey, and Carol.
