sailing and diving around the world
Hey Guys :) I'm sitting here in Gatwick Airport, waiting to see what my gate number will be for my flight to Menorca. The yacht is in Menorca, and we'll sail her to mainland, Spain, and hop along the coast til we get to Gibraltar, and then wait for a window to head for the Island of Madeira. From there, we'll sail to the Canaries, which will be our jumping off point when we're ready to head out into the Atlantic, bound for St. Lucia. I'm going to be In Europe for the Month of December, so I should have lots of cool vids and pics of the different cities I visit. I'm particularly exited about Venice and Budapest. I was in London a few months ago, and forgot to do a short video of the Prime Meridian, at the Royal Observatory, so decided to fly into London before heading to Menorca.
So, after 20 days, I arrived in Horta, Faial, Azores. Charming place. Took on more fuel and provisions. The crossing was uneventful, no bad weather, almost no rain. Swam in 12000 feet of water, twice. Second time I got out pretty fast because there were jellyfish everywhere. I've heard of people going into cardiac arrest after being stung by a man-of-war. Had a line out but didn't catch any fish :( After Horta, I stopped in at Terceira, Angra, and got to see another island in the Azores. Pushed on and stopped in Camaret, France, to re-fuel and get some fresh baguettes and brie :) Then another 8 days to get to Guernsey. Arrived in Geurnsey July 11, and flew to Bristol, England, the same day, and checked into the Premier Inn Hotel. Had a chance to visit with Martin, the person that I crewed for during the 2017 ARC USA.
