sailing and diving around the world
Hey guys :) I made it to Grenada. My gear is stowed away on the vessel, and I'm now sitting in the yacht club restaurant, having some roti and a Carib. It's good to be back. Grenada is another one of those places that I've been to so many times that it feels like home. Did a stop-over in Miami, where is was raining. When we took off from Miami, we flew out of the lousy weather pretty fast and were soon over the Bahamas. Kinda neat, because I was in the Bahamas only a month or two earlier, when I helped sail a boat from Bermuda.
I don't have much to report, as it's my first day here but I took a couple of videos, and some pics as we flew over the Bahamas. Alex, the instructor, will be back here first thing in the morning, and we're going to sail to Carriacou, one of the Grenadine Islands, to begin the first day of the training week. Hopefully I'll have lots of instructional videos soon.
First thing I did when I got here was I tried my Canadian debit card, at the restaurant, so I had to do a ten-minute walk to get to an ATM to get some local cash. Lots of memories for me along that walk. Some things have changed. True Masqueraders, the bar where I watched the Grenada Carnival for the first time is gone. Too bad. I was looking forward to saying hello to Eddie.
The wifi strength here is limited, and I only managed to upload a few photos. I had to cancel the photos to allow the video that I'm uploading to upload faster. The pics I was trying to upload are of the Bahamian Islands, as we passed over.
