Another great wifi spot, for all of you who are coming to Annapolis. Hard Bean Coffee & Ice Cream is right across Mills Fine Wine & Spirits, on a street that is known as 'Market Space.' Its at the southern end of Main St., just around the corner from O'Briens. They've got a strong wifi signal here, and all kinds of treats, like slices of quiche, sandwiches, sweet pastries, iced coffee, and ice cream. Their BLT is really good.
There is a cozy row of tables with a power bar below the seats, with at least 25 places to plug in.
As usual, the wifi is free, but, of course, buying some refreshments is always the proper thing to do, if we're using an establishment's internet connection :) What I usually do is park on St. Mary's or Newman Streets, north of the bridge, right in front of the Annapolis Marriott Hotel, and simply move the car every two hours. You don't even have to move to a different street. For some reason or other, you only need move to another spot, on the same street, to satisfy the parking authorities. It may be a pain to have to move every two hours, but it's free :)
Here you go, guys, for those of you who'll be visiting Solomon's. April owns the Hidden Harbor Restaurant, and a really great wifi signal. It's about a five minute walk from Calvert Marina office. April's daughter, Meagan, helps to run the place, and is probably the one preparing your fabulous food. She makes a mean burger, one of the best I've ever had! April greets you with a big smile and when she finds out where you're from, she'll stick a pin in the U.S. map that she has on the wall. She's already got me up there, representing Toronto, Canada. One of the things that I love about Hidden Harbor is that it is really bright and airy, and there always seems to be something going on.
Hats off to April, and Meagan, making things delightfully easy, and tasty, for us transient boaters :) As I said, the wifi signal is great, just make sure, as always, to have some drinks or food if you're there for the wifi only.
